Synth Single Review: “Two Hearts” by Shadowrunner
by Karl Magi
Shadowrunner’s “Two Hearts” imbues the music with abiding love. The track begins as a muffled backdrop expands with placidity and a wordless voice exhales gauzy tones. The melody carries a sense of devotion while the sunrise glow of the female vocals invokes ardent emotion. Sparkling notes trip lightly through the music, as if borne on a gentle breeze, while rippling arpeggios spill lustrously into the surrounding air. The entire piece fills me with deep calm, sending cascades of love through my senses.
The vocals remain delicate as they breathe, a tremulous tone tumbling softly below them. Drums interlock in a rebounding pattern while the melody whispers with misty gentleness and a xylophone adds an organic resonance. The voice exudes impassioned affection as the rhythm skips past, its feathery textures glowing before luminous tones begin to dance together, creating relaxation and a profound sense of being cared for.
As a gentle breeze drifts through the soundscape, the xylophone flutters with rich vibration while a synth line glides with calming energy. Brilliant notes then guide the track tenderly into silence.
