Synth Single Review: “Repulsion” by Wellside & Prophylaxis

Wellside & Prophylaxis’ “Repulsion” glows faintly as a steadying rhythm supports a fluting melody which radiates pure peace, notes around it exuding a burnished brightness as they exhale and tiny sonic pinpoints gleam delicately before full-sounding notes dance in a melody combining positive energy and nostalgic memory.

A breathy synth transmits feelings of warmth and happiness, shimmering and full of intricate tones, as the gentling rhythm fades. extended notes slide with a faint static tremble while the echoing background is full of a synth that carries rushing softness. Complexity joins calm to embellish the track in a swelling field of peace.

As the flickering tones call up cosmically gliding imagery, a strong beat forms a shaping influence. My mind is filled with encouragement and relaxation as the melody pours out luminosity and the track comes to an end on deep bass vibrating into silence.

Synth Single Review: “Ghost Cue” by Ferus Melek

Ferus Melek’s “Ghost Cue” begins with slowly trembling notes that drift in a line with a ghostly glide as a rhythm transmitted on clean drums swings smoothly, mingling to form a pattern with a hypnotic flow as it comes together. The background climbs with diffuse lustre, like sun seen through mist, as continually rising and falling notes slip past.

All the musical layers work to paint a memory of past feeling, captured in contemplation. A charming mixture of gentleness and wistfulness permeates the melody as it moves on softly sliding synth and fills me with a hankering for times gone by before the track climbs into gliding melancholy.

Like a blazing comet, tones explode with excited illumination, ramping the energy level up higher. Once again, notes move in a slowly revolving line as bells ring with a soft radiance of feeling as the swinging drum beat fades away.

Synth Single Review: “Shimmer” by Skylane Drive

Skylane Drive’s “Shimmer” knots and unknots with prismatic tones echoing into a vast soundstage as the trembling patterns imbue the music with hypnotic radiance as the steady drum beat creates another layer of progress and energy. Wind slips past as the uneven synth pulse creates a computerized warning signal while the undulating underpinning adds urgency before the drums produce motion.

A bending synth with a delicate sheen carries a melody invoking travel through celestial realms as the low end contributes insistent weight. A feeling of lightness permeates the slipping tones that exude starlight while the continually revolving, supporting pattern is trance inducing.

Percussion drops away as the music glides before returning with a sharp counterpoint to the tranquil background synth. As a vaulting pattern spins, percussion adds repetitive motion, like a pulsar signal. The main melody returns, unfurling like clouds of cosmic dust, while the background shines like far distant galaxies before the track closes out with a windy sweep.

Synth Single Review: “Why Can't We Live Together?” by The Blue Book Project & Rogue FX

The Blue Book Project & Rogue FX’s “Why Can't We Live Together” begins with an undulating bassline and a brilliant melody that encapsulates hopeful wonder and encouragement, flaring with morning light. The drum beat has a dance floor filling pulsation while the joyful melody rises with Rogue FX’s inimitable and gripping voice, carrying a message of progress.

Distinctive and fresh, Rogue FX captures positivity and struggle, while the melody suffuses the song with burnished luminosity, lifting my heart with it. Throbbing underpinnings create action while the melody evokes sensations of happiness and aspiration as Rogue FX transfers the emotional weight and expectation in the lyrics. Irresistible momentum infuses the leaping tones that burst with newness and a chance for positive change before the song ends.

Asking, "why can't we live together?" our narrator points out that the world is full of hate, not love and says, "Every day it's crisis control, rockets fly as two tribes go to war, humanity has got to even the score." He asks us what we need to do to alter our viewpoint and decides that, "L . O . V . E , it's what we have to do." He muses that there has to be a way to "turn the world around" because we have to live together and adds, " here's to future days."

"It's a crying shame to keep living this way," the storyteller says as he considers the fact that it's difficult to smile when we're hiding so much pain. He continues, "the last thing I want to do is watch the evening news" because our despairing hearts make it tough to let go of anger. However, he cautions, "don't accept the hate, stay closer now to love" because hope is what he's thinking about. To conclude, he says, "don't underestimate the heart's capacity, we can live together (and) make love our destiny."
