Synth Single Review: “Awaken” by SkelOne

by Karl Magi

SkelOne’s “Awaken” reflects a system reactivating as it trembles to life with spectral, ringing energy. A broken beat snaps under surging, technological notes to form a robotic charge. Fizzing synaptic life broadcasts signals as digital danger grows, creaking tones vibrate and charge above dark forces. Images of a city starting to shimmer and breathe swell outward now.

Creeping electricity crackles below to send tendrils growing through the reactivating network. Razor edges spin and slash while high notes spill an irradiating sheen, propelled by unrelenting broken drums, vibrating with fragility and nervousness. A synth line shifts as the drums jump.

Ever-increasing dynamism grasps me while skittering drums and shadowy bass interlock and charge. A heaviness and robotic weight snarls as uncertainty tumbles in the distance. A synth glows with unending tension while rapidly seething, boiling tones join flickering piano. As the track ends, a synth moves nervously into quiet.
