Synth Single Review: “The Peak Time” by Kiomono

by Karl Magi

Kiomono’s “The Peak Time” trembles with cyberspace complexity as intertwining, razor-sharp notes fall together in a wave of vibrating life. Slipping sounds exuding technological energy permeate a wide, reverberant synth while fragments of falling code glow eerily in my mind’s eye. Impressions of growing victory, reaching skyward with encouragement, fill the medium-low synth as it radiates a phosphor glow.

Warmth pours through me despite the crushing heartbeat shuddering below, the melody caressing my face and holding me close while lifting me up to the sun. Massive muscle seethes from a pounding kick drum while bell-like, computerized notes float.

Darkness surges with balancing neon-lit brightness, transporting me out above a gigantic metropolis, night windows spilling a hazy sheen. Positive brightness billows over massive weight as breathy tones exhale in time to jumping percussion. Thunderous and guiding, the underlayer moves while melodic tenderness undulates into quiet.
