Synth Single Review: “Into Orbit” by Russell Nash

by Karl Magi

Russell Nash’s “Into Orbit” creates vivid images of an exotic new world. Lambent tones gleam above a creaking, galactic bass that settles into a slow pulsation. Flaring notes shimmer like distant planetary bodies in boundless space as thumping drums move alongside a colossal bassline. The chords swirl with balletic motion before the main melody glides outward on radiant tones, wandering tranquilly into the surrounding vastness.

The lead synth shines like the light of strange suns while descending tones tremble with fragile brilliance. Piercing notes flash above the deep void as bass rumbles below and sweeping textures drift once more. Panpipes breathe with radiant softness, repeating in a hypnotic, mellow pattern. Drums press forward as the pipes dance and metallic ringing tones glisten like a thousand stars in an alien sky. The bass rumbles with immense force, colliding drums strike hard and a thick bassline finally closes the track with resonant weight.
