Synth Single Review: “And Also Tomorrow” by Eddie Wrevlonne

by Karl Magi

Eddie Wrevlonne’s “And Also Tomorrow” comes into being with snapping drums and a melody with a gleaming quality as the fiercely emotive vocals capture the hurting complexity of Eddie Wrevlonne’s feelings.

The guitar unwinds with tenderness and gentle motion while the vocals capture the damaged affection that pours from the melody. Drums rebound and glittering tones transport dreaming wistfulness as the steady underlayer pulsates.

Eddie Wrevlonne’s shadowed voice fills me with a plethora of expressive, thoughtful emotion while the rhythm pushes on. Feelings of hope still grow in spite of the damaged emotion in the vocals and the main melody provides a sunlit counterpoint before the song closes.

Despite the song's subject losing control, our storyteller doesn't blame them. He wants to be taken home as he adds, "I'm tired of feeling cold, I think I should not think any more." As the other person rolls their eyes at him and he oversimplifies, he continues, "you held me up to the light to see right through my skin" as they let sunlight in once more.

The lights are turned down low and the narrator says he saw the TV glow, going on , "just start the show, pretend we do not know." He repeats that he shouldn't think anymore and concludes, "you close your eyes, I overjustify. "

Synth Single Review: “Exit Velocity” by SynthPrincipal

by Karl Magi

SynthPrincipal’s “Exit Velocity” spreads out from a delicate beginning to slowly expand with serene ripples and a breezy flow that is shaped by steadily guiding rhythms before the full drum beat pushes forward. The background radiates pink light, calling to mind a slowly rising dawn, while interlocking notes in the distance create a rich sonic tapestry.

Extended synth tones reflect golden light as they carry a nostalgically wistful melody while spinning patterns add an opalescent sheen, undulating and giving the music an uplifting quality. Barely perceptible percussion taps into open space as the peaceful flow wanders, like a wind blowing across a beautiful landscape.

The beat propels while a melodic pattern fills my mind with images of freedom, touched by a hint of aching emotion, somewhere between loss and acceptance. The contrasting dance of the arpeggiation adds warmth before the track ends.

Synth Single Review:“Mesmerise” by MIDNIGHT HI-FI

by Karl Magi

MIDNIGHT HI-FI’s “Mesmerise” floats with weightless grace as a flutter of gem-like notes ads and effervescent quality as they join rapidly pulsing tones which create a mesmerizing feeling indeed has the rhythms snap in. My mind travels to ethereal realms in the company of this music.

Bells conjure up an image of thousands of crystalline fragments falling as a melody paints a picture of endlessly drifting across a cloudy pink landscape as broader sounds contribute vibrant life. A note pattern laps in effulgent waves, bells evoke ancient serenity and an unending foundational pulsation shifts.

A melody that transmits thoughtful peace glides and twinkling tones evoke sparks of radiance in pastel billows. A widely flowing synthesizer carries exuberant vibrancy before luscious sounds flow like a sapphire dream and solid underpinnings create motion. Swirling, intermingling sounds create layers of calming interaction before the bassline carries the track to an end.

Synth Single Review: “Cruising Speed” by Vector Hold

by Karl Magi

Vector Hold’s “Cruising Speed” grooves into being with a funky guitar figure, wordless whispering and an utterly silken rhythm supported by electric bass that sits in the pocket. a slight hint of static moves with breaths of wind as bursting synthesizer casts a muted glow over the laid-back atmosphere.

The disco beat creates an easy-going groove as the distant, rustling notes hover and ultra-cool guitar cruises with chilled out smoothness. All the sonic elements form a velvety soundscape, transporting me to realms of relaxed contemplation. As the surfing low end locks in, drums keep pattering gently as the entire track moves like a feather in the wind.

The guitar and the chunky base form an irresistible pattern as the trickling tones in the distance drift like clouds in a sunset sky. Softly exhaling notes glide and the track paints images of boundless horizons before the music closes.
