Synth Single Review: “Funnyboy” by Ferus Melek

by Karl Magi

Ferus Melek’s “Funnyboy” charges to life with a surging rhythm, calling to mind galloping horses, while the synth undulates with slicing energy to summon impressions of intense power and conflict. Laser-like sounds zap while fiercely rushing underpinnings are slashed by twisting notes and an explosive synth.

A theme full of battling strength and wild adventure swells, expressing a futuristic Western movie quality which I enjoy. The low end speeds with irresistible force as the drums and note patterns further generate acceleration and thrilling imagery of a brave fighter facing down his opponents.

Drilling notes create warning sensations while the excitement of the main theme shines from the bursting synth. A twisting tonal quality fills the melody as it calls out with vitality, summoning exhilarating images, outlining scenes of combat and a gunslinger facing down his opponents before the track concludes.
